Roland Hilgartner: Jungle Worlds

1900 Days on Expedition

April 27 to October 20, 2014

The internationally renowned nature photographer Dr. Roland Hilgartner is a scientist and director of Affenberg Salem. Many of his pictures have been published in well-known magazines such as National Geographic, BBC Wildlife Magazine and GEO. Some of his discoveries were even reported in the New York Times.

For the first time, Hilgartner's photographs from the most remote tropical regions on earth can now be experienced in an exhibition. His images document animal species and behaviors that few people have ever seen in the wild, including the shy bonobos in the Congo Basin, tear-

drinking butterflies in Madagascar, birds of paradise in New Guinea and poison dart frogs in the Amazon Basin. Many of his images are unique and show behavior that has never been captured photographically before.

In view of the ongoing destruction of the rainforests, some photos are now also contemporary documents of a lost tropical wilderness.

Fotoclub Überlingen: Linzgau

April 27 to October 20, 2024

In the 50th year of its existence, the Fotoclub Überlingen is showing photos on the theme of "Linzgau".

14 photographers of the association use the club's anniversary as an opportunity to look at their region through the viewfinder and to direct their subjective view of the immediate surroundings.

The approximately 70 photographs therefore depict very different areas: crafts, cityscapes, landscapes and sights

are some of the themes that, without pretending to be exhaustive, show some typical features of the region.

Visitors to the exhibition can therefore expect both photos with a high recognition value as well as special and surprising views of the region.
